Coming Soon: Diary Quilting Class 2024

Coming Soon: Diary Quilting Class 2024

Join Heidi for a self-hosted, month-long Diary Quilting class. In contrast with an ‘autobiographical quilt,’ a ‘diary quilt’ can tell a story as clearly or as secretly as you desire. A diary entry can reframe the past, track the present, and anticipate the future. There is magic and healing potential in working with all 3 of these time zones!

A diary quilt can be made with any technical skills that you already have, or with a handful of skills that will be shared in class, so this is an excellent class for beginners and experienced quilters.

You will receive substantial pre-recorded instruction before the live class begins in September. Then we will meet live to sew, learn, discuss, and share live on Zoom throughout September and October.

Exact dates and times TBD; subscribe to my email newsletter to be the first to know when the class launches!

While you’re waiting, a great way to prepare for this class is to take Heidi’s Story Quilt Top class with Creativebug.

  • You're eager for a rigorous program to keep you accountable and sewing for an average of 5-7 hours a week

Course Structure:

  • We will meet once a month, in small groups of 10 people each

  • We will also meet for an optional large-group co-working session 1-3 times a month

  • We will engage with each other to share photos & updates via an exclusive Mighty Network platform

  • Plan to make 3-8 quilts, and a collection of small studies.

  • This course is intended to grow and transform your practice: this can be a private or public quilting practice, and this important choice is entirely up to you.

  • If you get behind, it is possible to catch up. All class sessions are recorded. You have the option to record what you would’ve presented in small group and can share it with us.

  • Access to the class modules and Mighty Network are ‘lifetime’ access for as long as I continue to run this course.
