In my Magical Thinking series, hormonal frustration mixed with new-age advice to use my menstrual blood as natural dye. This mark-making cataloged the endless tracking of months and changing of habits to confront the friction of advocating for myself and creating change. I'm happy to report that this series worked to improve my hormonal health dramatically. This first iteration especially was focused on an effort to see beauty in my body, and to stop 'othering' parts of myself that I found frustrating. The thread is all dyed with medicinal herbs, in an effort to emphasize good health and beauty in the series.
